Institute of Technology Sligo and The Business Innovation Centre
Institute of Technology, Sligo is the largest Higher Education Institution in the North West. Its suite of courses includes a number that are highly relevant to the Life Science industries, including Biomedical Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Forensic Science, and Health Science and Physiology. Other areas of interest to most business and industry sectors are Environmental Science and Technology, Engineering (Mechanical, Electronic, Civil and Quality), Business (Finance, Marketing, MBA). Most of the undergraduate programmes have associated postgraduate and research programmes, and the Institute has state of the art research laboratories and equipment. IT Sligo is a member of NIBRT (the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training), and through its collaboration in NIBRT with UCD, TCD and DCU, has partnership with a number of the world leading Life Science industries. The Institute has an excellent record in designing tailored training programmes for SME and multi-national companies.
The Northwest Life Sciences facility is a unique, innovative and very important resource for the Northwest. The Institute looks forward to supporting the group, and their client companies, in their business developments.

Enterprise Ireland
Northwest Life Sciences was approved for grant aid of €400K towards Phase One of its construction by Enterprise Ireland who recognised that this facility provides a unique opportunity for those wishing to set up a business in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Medical Device Industry. The high level of capital commitment required to build a cleanroom can prevent existing business from expanding and potential new businesses from establishing because of this major up-front expenditure.
